Welcome to Spanish 1411!

!Buenas tardes!

I hope you have had a great summer and I look forward to a wonderful semester with you all this Fall.

Here are the blog assignment instructions, also listed in the syllabus:

Each week you will post two different blog posts before midnight Sunday.  The posts must be written on two of the three following topics:

-          Three to four sentences minimum related to something interesting you learned about the Spanish language that week.
-          A link to a current event involving the Spanish-speaking world and a three to four sentence minimum analysis/opinion of the current event.
-          A post about a cultural aspect of the Spanish-speaking world.  It could be a poem, artwork, video, music etc. and a three to four sentence minimum statement on what you think about it.

You are highly encouraged to use video, audio and pictures in your blog posts.  This is a space for you to explore your own thoughts and interests regarding the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures.  Be creative!  Each post must include at least two sentences in Spanish, the rest can be in English.

You will receive one exam bonus point for every five substantial comments that you make on other classmate’s blogs for a maximum of three bonus points per exam.  In order to receive the bonus points you must bring a printout of your comments the day of the exam. I highly encourage you to comment on and discuss each other’s blog posts.
